Happens on the very first installation because of a mixture of the low screen res and the fact that game mode just tries to "fullscreen" everything instead of being able to draw layered windows. Wiggle the window, double-click the title bar, etc until it "unfucks" itself. Been doing it for a year, I've actually never played a single game in desktop mode, not even to try (true story). Yes, I wouldn't want to lose Gamescope and other creature comforts of the Deck. This is not an issue if you only play D2R.Īlso it seems the Wine environment is some kind of default Steam Deck Wine environment, so I do not know whether Steam (OS) itself uses it as well, but going by some comments people have been playing like this since the Deck came out, so this is probably not an issue. I tried this out after posting this and seeing the suggestions and this method has one disadvantage: D2R will not get its own Wine prefix, so it will share the Wine environment with everything else installed this way and thus games might screw up the environment for others. In that case fool around with resizing the borders until it does.Įdit: Some people suggested not using Lutris and adding the installer & launcher directly as a non-Steam game with compatibility mode. Once you've launched the launcher for the first time and want to install D2R it might be it doesn't quite fit on the screen and you can't see the "Install" button.

In Lutris you can also add a desktop icon for D2R and add that icon to Steam.
Today I thought I'd check whether Lutris now works on the Steam Deck without any hassles and, lo and behold, it does! Diablo 2 Resurrected runs flawlessly, just like on the Switch! I didn't even have to screw around with the controls.
